A BIRTH SYMBOLIZING HOPE

This is wonderful news for this species classified as critically endangered. Unfortunately, its natural habitat, the Indonesian rainforests, is the scene of intense deforestation, mainly for agriculture, especially for palm oil production.
This is why, since 2021, the Amnéville Zoo has been involved with the Borneo Nature Foundation, an Indonesian foundation working through research, conservation, and education to protect and restore Borneo’s biodiversity, which is essential to life on Earth. The One Million Trees project is a perfect example, which you can also support directly here.
