Herrerasaurus is one of the oldest dinosaurs; it lived 70 million years before the Allosaurus and 160 million years before the Tyrannosaurus. It lived on high plateaus in dense vegetation. During the dry season, it migrated closer to the riverbanks. Its jaw was sliding with a joint allowing it to tear off pieces of meat.
