Dimorphodon

The Dimorphodon is a medium-sized pterosaur; it was not a dinosaur but a reptile. Its name means “two forms of teeth”; the front teeth were large and pointed, and the ones at the back of the jaw were smaller. Its teeth suggest it was piscivorous and fed on fish.

It had a large skull box, nearly 22 cm long, and relatively short wings. Its tail was long and was composed of 30 vertebrae! It had fingers at the wing joint to move in a quadrupedal form. It would seem that the Dimorphodon could not really fly for long distances; it could only fly short distances.a0The wings had a thin membrane of skin.
