After spells with Gueugnon, LOSC, Bayonne, Mouscron (Belgium), and Strasbourg, the native of Nevers moved to Lorraine on June 12, 2018, just as the Moselle club had confirmed relegation to Ligue 2. Without delay, the goalkeeper secured a solid starting spot, taking part in all 38 league matches. By keeping a clean sheet 19 times, Alexandre Oukidja was one of the main architects of Moselle’s return to the French first division, coupled with a new Ligue 2 championship title.
Among the national elite, the goalkeeper played in 82 matches wearing the Metz jersey, and secured two consecutive survivals between 2020 and 2021. Thanks to his performances in Moselle, Alexandre Oukidja took the opportunity to give an international dimension to his career. Now with six caps for the Algerian national team, he was notably part of the Fennecs squad that won the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Appreciated by all for his fighting spirit displayed wearing the shirt adorned with the Cross of Lorraine, the 34-year-old player will not be closing the garnet chapter anytime soon. Now committed to FC Metz until June 2025, Alexandre Oukidja, with his 143 appearances for Metz, will help the club achieve the hoped-for sporting results.
