Shearing of our sheep

Shearing of our sheep

Meet us on Saturday, May 20 at the mini-farm to watch our sheep being sheared live!

⚠️ EVENT FINISHED ⚠️

Come and watch the live shearing of all our sheep at the zoo’s mini-farm! For this occasion, we will welcome Alban Bodot, a professional shearer.

Shearing is an essential moment in the lives of sheep. It prevents them from getting too hot in the summer, and also helps remove parasites present in their fleece. Thus, it is a crucial annual step for the well-being of the flocks.

At Amnéville Zoo, the caretakers repurpose all this wool to create various enrichments for other species.
