Welcome to our new sea lion born on June 19th!
A BIRTH FULL OF EMOTION
The last sea lion birth at the zoo was on June 20, 2013 with June; now it’s a new female’s turn to show her little face!
A birth that apparently went well for the mom and the baby, as both are in perfect health.

THE PARENTS
The mother, Shouka
Herself born at the zoo on June 30, 2012, she is a very playful and clever sea lion.
Known for her success with the most complex trainings, she is an extremely dynamic individual with a strong character. She doesn’t hesitate to show her dominance to the males who are more than twice her weight.
The father, Gonzo
Born on May 31, 2009 in Cologne, he grew up at Parc Astérix before joining our group of sea lions in April 2021.
Gentle and motivated animal, he is always up for participating in training sessions whether they are medical, cognitive, or dynamic.
He is also a very talkative sea lion who barks a lot, especially when in contact with females.
