This dinosaur was a super predator that lived in what is now China. It did not hesitate to attack giant prey such as Mamenchisaurus.
It is part of the allosaur group and not that of the tyrannosaurs. Indeed, smaller and lighter than T-rex, it had longer forelimbs. Its dagger-shaped curved teeth helped to catch prey. Holes are present in the skull, allowing the reduction of the skeleton’s weight and enabling more mobility.
The eyes facing forward allow for good depth perception.
Its long tail helped to maintain balance while running.
At the level of the nasal bones there are rough protrusions which, according to some hypotheses, served as anchor points for two keratin crests that extended lengthwise over the top of the head. Likewise, on the lacrimal bones, there are crest anchor points.
