African Large Herbivore Conservation Weekend

June 27 and 28, 2026, at Zoo d’Amnéville

For one special weekend, Zoo d’Amnéville is celebrating three iconic African animals: rhinos, giraffes, and elephants.

Join us Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to learn about the challenges of protecting these magnificent animals and meet the teams who care for them every day.

For the occasion, the zoo will become a playground for the whole family, with new activities, surprises throughout the day, and a few special treats to thank our most loyal visitors.

A program dedicated to protecting biodiversity

Stop by our educational booth throughout the day for activities for all ages. Games, challenges, interactive displays, and hands-on materials will help you discover more about these fascinating animals, their vital role in African ecosystems, and the threats they face.

You can also meet the organization Stand Up For Elephants, which works to protect elephants and raise awareness of the challenges they face.

Go behind the scenes at the animal facilities

Join our animal care team for special guided tours of the rhino, giraffe, and elephant facilities. Get a closer look at the animals’ daily lives, the care they receive, and the conservation programs Zoo d’Amnéville supports.
